Summer Camps off to a Great Start

1/2 day Summer Tennis Camps have begun

Summer is off to a great start here at West Hills Athletic Club. Our 1/2 day summer tennis camps have started with record registrations for children ages 6–11! Tennis camps started last week and will run through Sept. 2, Monday–Thursday, 8:30 a.m.–noon. Tim Montague, director of tennis at West Hills, said that this week 21 students have participated, making it one of the biggest camps. The students have been assigned to smaller groups and a tennis pro. Each day the pros provide lessons focusing on tennis fundamentals and specific skills techniques like serving. Also worked into the camp are age-appropriate games, including Wiffle ball, pickleball, dodgeball, obstacle courses, tag. Visit the tennis camps page for more information.

Strength and conditioning camps scheduled for July 19-Aug. 27

For older children, middle school and high school age, West Hills will be having Fitness Strength and Conditioning camps beginning the week of July 19. Our team of certified personal trainers will lead these two-week camps and be overseen by West Hills Fitness Director Dre Ballines. Each session will focus on practical applications of sports science and how to incorporate them into your daily workout routine. Much thought has gone into designing these sessions—incorporating evidence-based research and physiology of exercise and anatomy to enhance movement. These camps are great for any students looking to get into optimal shape. Register today!
