Hallie Scott and her kids

You could tell by the enthusiasm in her voice, Hailie Scott loves tennis. Her family moved to the Kalamazoo area a little over a  year ago for her husband's job at Strker. Hailie has already gained lifelong friendships in that short time, as well as a lifelong sport. Her interest in tennis began less than two years ago at her tennis club in Arizona. She was growing bored with long distance running and took note of the fun and camaraderie the women playing tennis were having. Not long after she got involved in tennis in Arizona she moved to Kalamazoo. After visiting West Hills, she knew this was the place for her. She immediately signed up for drills, lessons and travel teams. She did not know anyone when she arrived in Kalamazoo, however, in a short time she was thriving among the West Hills’ community.

“Tennis is an excellent way to meet people. I have met some amazing people, who have become incredible friends. Not only is tennis fun and great exercise, it fulfills my competitive drive.” She is looking forward to being part of four travel teams, participating in private lessons, weekly drills, and tournaments. She is currently looking forward to playing in the New Year’s Open. Hailie participates in some type of tennis activity daily. “Tennis not only provides great exercise, but it keeps me mentally sharp.” The benefits of tennis are endless.  She has learned that sportsmanship is highly valued among her fellow tennis players. She has tremendous regard and respect for her opponent but on the flip side has an exceptional need to win.
