Member Spotlight: Curt Petersen

Like many people, one of Curt’s health and fitness goals was to lose a few pounds. He began attending West Hills’ Body Pump and Spinning classes. Soon after making this his routine, he saw a change in his weight and his energy levels. After attending those classes consistently for a year, Curt decided he wanted to find something even more challenging to “up” his fitness game. Then he saw a flyer for West Hills’ GRIT class.

GRIT has brought Curt’s stamina and strength to a new level. He works extremely hard and says it is completely worth it. According to his fitbit he burns 500-600 calories each 30 minute GRIT workout. Curt continues to do Body Pump as well as lift weights on his own. He finds himself lifting much more weight than he did in the past. He encourages everyone he knows to join his team’s GRIT workouts.

“GRIT is a great way to start your day. It gives me energy that lasts until bedtime. I could not have reached the goals I have without my team! Michele, our trainer, does a great job of leading us without being intimidating. She motivates, encourages and provides great advice. Our team makes me want to do better, and work harder. Grit is not for everyone; it’s challenging, difficult, but incredibly rewarding.”
