Allison, Cody, Mark and Dre.Around seven years ago I was put on several different medications which had side effects of weight gain. Not too long after that, I was shocked to see that I was weighing in at 185 pounds. That was a lot of extra weight on my 5’ 2” frame. I was also now pre-diabetic. The medication made my hunger insatiable. The extra weight made it difficult to walk for very long periods without severe lower back pain. I wanted a change. I needed it for both my physical and mental health.

I enlisted the help of West Hills’ personal trainers, Mark Daniel, Dre and most recently Cody. I have been training with them for many months now. The results have been more than rewarding so far. I am doing intervals of running and walking on the treadmill for 45 minutes, or walking a 5k every day. My strength has improved times ten. I am now using heavier weights than some of their male clients. They have me doing pull-ups, minute planks and heavy lower body lifts which I could not do before.

I also count my calories daily, and drink three times more water than I used to. With Mark, Dre, and Cody’s knowledge and positive motivation, plus my hard work and lifestyle changes, I am now down to 148 pounds. I am also no longer pre-diabetic, and I smile every time I come in to the gym and see that lower number on the scale. I made a choice to make a lifestyle change and I couldn’t be happier with my new routine.
